In Canada’s last parliament 72 MPs and Senators supported the international UNPA appeal. Following the 2015 election, and turnover in the Senate, that number is now 46. A UNPA is considered a practical step toward the democratization of global governance and would be a catalyst for further UN reforms.
The UNPA Canada Campaign volunteers each take on the task of contacting the offices of 10 parliamentarians, to follow up on a letter requesting support. Excluding those who have already endorsed the UNPA Appeal, and those in Cabinet, we have still to reach approximately 350 MPs and Senators.
