WFM – Canada President Walter Dorn presented a paper on “Cyberpeacekeeping: New Ways to Prevent and Manage Cyberattacks” June 5 at the Vancouver (UBC) meetings of the Canadian Peace Research Association. There are a growing number of examples of cyberattacks in regions of tensions and armed conflict. The paper discusses the applicability of the principles of peacekeeping to these growing security threats.
Later in June Dorn was at the United Nations in New York to give a presentation at a side event on “New Technology for Peace & Protection: Expanding the R2P Implementation Toolbox.” Sponsored by the Government of Honduras, the event took place at the time of the annual debate at the UN on the Responsibility to Protect.
